A fo'n ei galon â'i holl waith,
Yn rhodio taith cyfiawnder,
Gann draethu'r gwir, heb ddeimlo braw,
Heb fod â'i law mewn trawsder,
Ym mhell uwchlaw pob cnawdol wae
Meddiannu mae'r uchelder;
A'i fraint yn fawr
yn Nheyrnas Nef,
Lle rhoddes ef ei hyder.
Ar ffyrdd y byd
ni cheir ei draed,
Ei law mewn gwaed ni ddyrydd;
Mae, gann ymwrthad â phob drwg,
Ar Dduw â'i olwg beunydd;
Ni thwyllir ef
gann bethau'r byd,
Ni cheir ei fryd e'n efrydd;
Gŵyr bethau gwell,
fe geidw ei dir
Ar lawr y gwir tragywydd.
Ei drigfod amddiffynfawr ef,
Iôr mawr y Nef a'i cyfyd,
Ar greigiau'r trag'wyddoldeb hir,
Ar seiliau'r gwir gadernyd;
Gwêl degwch Duw'n
ei ryfedd waith,
A'i ddwyfol faith gelfyddyd;
Caiff dderbyn haeddiant
enaid clau,
Caiff lwyr fwynhau dedwyddyd.
Edward Williams (Iolo Morganwg) 1747-1826Salmau yr Eglwys yn yr Anialwch (Cyfrol II) 1857 {Mesur: 8787D] |
He who in his heart and all his work be
Walking the journey of righteousness,
Expounding the truth, feeling no terror,
Whose hand is not in violence,
Far above all carnal woe
Is possessing the height;
Whose privilege is great
in the Kingdom of Heaven,
Where he put his confidence.
On the roads of the world
his feet are not found,
His hand in blood is not put;
He has, by rejecting every evil,
His gaze upon God daily.
He will not be deceived
by the things of the world,
His mind will not be enfeebled;
He knows better things,
he shall keep his land
On the ground of the true eternity.
His well-protected dwelling
The great Lord of heaven shall raise,
Upon the rocks of the long eternity,
On the foundations of the true fastness;
He shall see the fairness of God
in his wonderful work,
And his vast divine art;
He shall receive the merit
of a faithful soul,
He shall fully enjoy happiness.
