A yw fy nyddiau'n cael ei hestyn,
A phob munud i mi a wnaed
I sicrhau a diogelu,
Fy hawl y'nghlwyfau'r Iesu
a'i waed?
Mwy ni wariaf euraidd oriau
Ar bleserau o bethau bÃḃs;
Ymro'f i gyrraedd dy drugaredd
Ger bron yr orsedd fawr o rÃḃs.
Arglwydd golch fy enaid innau
Golch fi'n gyfan, aflan wyf;
Dwg fi' mewn i'r ddinas noddfa
I gael ymg'leddfa yn dy glwyf,
Na'd i bechod fy mradychu
Mwy, na'm llygru mewn un lle;
Heb wyro ar y dde' na'r aswy,
Nes elwy' i mewn i gaerau'r ne'.

Are my days being extended,
And every minute made for me
To secure and make safe,
My claim in the wounds of Jesus
and his blood?
I shall no longer spend golden hours
On the pleasures of base things;
I shall devote myself to reach thy mercy
Before the great throne of grace.
Lord wash my soul,
Wash me completely, unclean I am;
Bring me inside the city of refuge
To get a place of succour in thy wound,
Do not let set betray me
Any more, nor my corruption in any place;
Without verging to the right or the left,
Until I come into the fields of heaven.

And is this life prolonged to me? Are days and seasons giv'n? O let me, then, prepare to be A fitter heir of heav'n. In vain these moments shall not pass, These golden hours be gone: Lord, I accept thine offered grace, I bow before thy throne. Now cleanse my soul from every sin By my Redeemer's blood; Now let my flesh and soul begin The honours of my God. Let me no more my soul beguile With sin's deceitful toys; Let cheerful hope, increasing still, Approach to heav'nly joys.Isaac Watts 1674-1748 Hymns and Spiritual Songs 1707 Tunes [CM 8686]: Naomi (Hans Georg NÃĊgeli 1773-1836) |
