  CÃḃr cywir yw,
Uwchlaw brawd a'r chwaer anwylaf -
  CÃḃr cywir yw;
Cyfaill yw mewn cyfyngderau,
Cyfaill yw yn caru maddau,
Gydag Ef nid ofnaf angau -
  CÃḃr cywir yw.

Cyfaill yw i bechaduriaid -
  CÃḃr cywir yw;
Ef yw gwrthrych hoff fy enaid -
  CÃḃr cywir yw;
Gall cyfeillion byd gyfnewid,
Gan roi imi boen a gofid;
Y mae Crist yn ddigyfnewid -
  CÃḃr cywir yw.

Christ loves with the purest love -
  True love he is,
Above a brother and the dearest sister -

A friend he is in straits,
A friend he is loving to forgive,
With him I shall not fear death -

A friend he is to sinners -
