Mae gwawr y dydd yn rhuddo'r nen,
Atseinia'r nef gan fawl uwchben;
Gorfoledd ar ddaear sydd,
A dwys ochneidia uffern brudd.
Pan gododd Iesu, Brenin nef,
Nerth angau dorrwyd gando ef,
Fe sathrwyd uffern dan ei draed,
A rhyddid drueiniaid gaed.
Er selio'r maen,
a gosod llu
O filwyr effro ar bob tu,
Cyfodi wnaeth o
byrth y bedd,
A buddugoliaeth ar ei wedd.
Dyrchafwn ein gwedïau 'nghyd
At Dduw, Creawdwr mawr y byd,
I'n dwyn o bob angheuol wasg
I fwyniant llon
y nefol Basg.
Gogoniant byth a fo i'r Tad,
A boed gogoniant i'r Mab rhad
A gododd o ddyfnderau'r bedd;
Gogoniant byth i Ysbryd hedd.

Tonau [MH 8888]: |
The dawn of the day is scorching the sky,
Heaven is resounding with praise overhead;
There is jubilation on the earth,
And sad hell is groaning intently.
When Jesus, the King of heaven, arose,
The strength of death was broken by him,
Hell was trampled under his feet,
And freedom of the wretches was got.
Despite the seal of the stone,
and the setting of a force
Of soldiers alert on ever side,
Arise he did from
the portals of the grave,
With victory on his face.
Let us raise our prayers together
To God, the great Creator of the world,
For bringing us from every deadly press
To a cheerful enjoyment
of the heavenly Passover.
Glory forever be to the Father,
And let glory be to the gracious Son
Who rose from the depths of the grave;
Glory forever to the Spirit of peace.

Light's glittering morn bedecks the sky
Heav’n thunders forth its victor cry;
The glad earth shouts her triumph high,
And groaning hell makes wild reply.
While He, the King, the mighty King,
Despoiling death of all its sting,
And, trampling down the powers of night,
Brings forth His ransomed saints to light.
His tomb of late
the threefold guard
Of watch and stone and seal had barred;
But now, in pomp
and triumph high,
He comes from death to victory.
That we may give Thee all our days
The tribute of our grateful praise.
O Lord of all, with us abide
In this our
joyful Eastertide;
All praise be Thine, O risen Lord,
From death to endless life restored;
All praise to God the Father be
And Holy Ghost eternally.
