Meddiana fy serchiadau'n glau

Meddiana fy serchiadau'n glau
  Fy Iesu bob yr un,
A gwna hwy yn eisteddfod būr
  Sancteiddiaf it' dy hun.

A gwna bob meddwl, a phob chwant
  I dynnu fynu fry,
Na's gwthio holl derfysgau'r byd
  Fi o dy gariad cu.

A doed deniadau'r byd yn lli',
  O'r dwyrain faith a'r de'
Ni thry fy serch i mwy yn ol
  Er neb o ganol ne'.

'Rwy'n teimlo'm hun yn marwhau
  I'r cwbl ar y llawr;
Mae holl feddiannau'r
    byd a'r nef
  Oll yn fy Arglwydd mawr.

Ni wnaed yr enaid hyn erioed
  I garu llwch y llawr;
Ond i gael meddu breintiau gwych
  Angylion nefoedd fawr.

[Mesur: MC 8686]

Possess my affections quickly
  My Jesus every one,
And make them a pure, holiest
  Throne for thee thyself.

And make every thought, and every desire
  To lead up above,
That all the tumults of the world push not
  Me from thy dear love.

And may the world's attraction as a flood,
  From the vast east and the south
Not turn my affection back any more,
  For anyone, from the centre of heaven.

I am feeling myself dying
  To everything on the earth;
All the possessions of the
    world and heaven are
  All in my great Lord.

May this soul never
  Love the dust of the earth;
But get to possess the brilliant privileges
  Of the angels of great heaven.
tr. 2017 Richard B Gillion
